Our Military Family Law Practice
We work with men and women in the military, or their spouses, at all stages of a divorce or family law matter from initial filing through negotiated settlements or trial and on to post-judgment requests for enforcement or modification of existing orders. We handle all issues involved in a military divorce, including child custody and visitation/parenting time, child support, alimony or spousal support, and the division of marital debt and assets.
We know that, as a service member subject to frequent deployments, you can become the victim of abuse when an ex-spouse wants to use your work requirements as justification for denying you custody or visitation. We are very familiar with the provisions of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act to protect your interests and to help you get the results you need and deserve.
We offer discounted fees to active duty, reserve, and retired active duty personnel, as well as members of the Minnesota National Guard. We also offer our services without charge to junior enlisted personnel (E-1 through E-4) serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom, based on our workload. We also offer discounted rates to licensed law enforcement officers, certified fire fighters, and emergency medical service (EMS) personnel.
